Description

Strong Bones helps you build and maintain stronger bones. Strong Bones contains microcrystalline hydroxyapatite (MCHA) from New Zealand, with cofactors for immediate absorption to reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

Bones are indeed amazing. They serve as a frame for our bodies and to protect key organs. Bones also perform several important biological roles as well; these include blood-cell formation, storage of minerals and fat, and hormone production. It is important to support strong bones and bone growth.

According to the prestigious Mayo Clinic, most people reach their peak bone mass by age 30. Bone growth is dynamic and continues; yet we tend to lose more bone than we can remodel or produce. This positions osteoporosis as a seemingly inevitable age-related disease; however, proactive supplementation as early as age 30 and definitely by age 40 can benefit your health immeasurably.

Women tend to lose bone mass at faster rate than men. This, coupled with the fact their bones tend to be smaller and lighter than men’s, increases their risk of osteoporosis. Up to half of a woman’s total loss of bone mass further occurs in the ten years following menopause, which is related to reduction in estrogen levels. This has typecast osteoporosis as a women’s disease, but according to statistics compiled by the Osteoporosis Workgroup, upwards of 20% of people over 50 with osteoporosis are men. This positions osteoporosis as the leading cause of fragility fractures associated with aging for both genders.

Among the many ingredients in Strong Bones is boron. Boron can also exert a mild estrogenic effect which can be a risk factor for estrogen-dependant cancers. This is the rationale for New Roots Herbal developing a specific Boron-Free Strong Bones for people at risk or with a family history of these forms of cancer.

Vegetarian Strong Bones also features a non–bovine-sourced calcium and a nonshellfish source of glucosamine among our comprehensive 22-ingredient formula.

Strong Bones is a broad-spectrum formula to defend against osteoporosis. The strength of Strong Bones begins with microcrystalline hydroxyapatite (MCHA), the most readily available form of calcium for human supplementation, which is also rich in proteins and phosphorus. This is the same type of calcium found in humans. Our MCHA is sourced from pasture-fed New Zealand cattle, freeze-dried and certified free from antibiotics, herbicides, pesticides, and bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE or “mad cow disease”).

Comprehensive Formulation Includes:

Vitamin C to improve calcium absorption.

Glucosamine sulfate represents a natural component for healthy cartilage and the production of connective tissue.

Magnesium is included to facilitate the absorption of calcium.

Zinc, copper, manganese, and boron are essential elements for bone growth and the maintenance of strong connective tissue, along with promoting calcium retention.

Vitamin B1 (thiamin) is essential to the formula to support metabolism of carbohydrates and for its role in energy production at the cellular level.

Vitamin K2 is included for its dual role in bone production and in the prevention of bone loss.

Lutein extract supports levels of this carotenoid, which have been shown in studies to be deficient in women with several forms of osteoporosis.

Lycopene, a phytochemical found in tomatoes, protects bone-producing cells from oxidative stress.

Methylcobalamin, the coenzyme form of vitamin B12, is included as research at Tufts University have identified low levels of methylcobalamin as a modifiable risk factor in bone-mineral density research.

Silica-rich horsetail, curcumin (95% curcuminoids), grapeseed extract, 80% oligomeric proanthocyanidins, and green tea, 75% epigallocatechin gallate, complete this advanced formula.
